RED FLAG TALK

Clarity, strength, and the path to safety, freedom, and true love.

My name is Madeleine Wessman, and I am the woman behind Red Flag Talk. My vision is clear: No woman should ever have to experience humiliation, emotional abuse, or violence at the hands of the very person who once promised her love, safety, and a happy life.

Love should never make you afraid. It should never break you down, strip you of your dignity, or make you question your own worth.

Love should be a place where you feel safe.

Red Flag Talk was created with exactly this purpose: To help more women gain the clarity to understand what they are experiencing, the strength to find a way forward, and the opportunity to build a life filled with safety, freedom, and true love.

The Woman Behind Red Flag Talk

Madeleine Wessman is a Marine Sergeant, registered nurse, coach, course instructor, public speaker, and personal trainer. She has extensive experience working with people facing challenging circumstances.

Over the years, she has also helped women escape abusive and destructive relationships.

Having experienced domestic abuse herself, Madeleine has dedicated years to understanding the mechanisms behind manipulation, coercive control, and violence against women. Drawing on research, professional knowledge, and personal experience, she is now ready to take the next step.

After all, what little girl dreams of growing up to find herself trapped in a relationship filled with manipulation, control, emotional destruction, and abuse — whether physical, psychological, sexual, or financial?

No. We dream of love. Of being loved. Of feeling safe. Of building a family and sharing that beautiful feeling of “us against the world.”

But life doesn't always turn out that way. Far too many women experience the exact opposite.

The book: RED FLAGS – Recognise the Warning Signs and Protect Yourself is the first in a trilogy created to give girls and women the knowledge every woman deserves to have — before meeting the wrong man.

Through Red Flag Talk, Madeleine brings together professional expertise, practical experience, and a deep commitment to women's safety, independence, and freedom.

Behind the Scenes

Everything you find here — from scripts and technical production to podcast recording and editing — is produced entirely by House of Madeleine. Madeleine personally oversees every stage of the process.

This allows her to ensure that everything shared is authentic, personal, and true to the vision behind Red Flag Talk.

Podcast: Red Flag Talk

Red Flag Talk has its own podcast on Spotify, where my guests and I share real-life stories and
speak openly and honestly about all forms of abuse in intimate relationships.

We talk about dating, different types of dangerous men, good men, how to escape unhealthy and abusive relationships, and how to rebuild your life afterwards.

I want to shine a light on the early warning signs — the red flags — that can appear during dating,
throughout a relationship, and even after it has ended.

My goal is to raise awareness, share knowledge and experiences, and create a safe space
where stories can be heard.

The podcast is currently available in Norwegian and Swedish. Dedicated episodes in English will also be released, and these will be clearly labelled so you can easily find them.

I would love to hear from you, whether you want to share your own story or simply have a question.

Please email me at info@redflagtalk.no.

Red Flag Talk has chosen the Phoenix as logo because it symbolises the strength to rise again after being broken down. To me, it represents the belief that no matter how dark life may seem, there is always a way forward.

Rebirth and renewal. According to legend, the Phoenix lives for hundreds of years before bursting into flames and rising from its own ashes as a young, new bird. It reminds us that the end of something is often the beginning of something new.

Immortality and eternity. Because the Phoenix never truly dies but is instead transformed, it symbolises the immortality of the soul, resurrection and the idea that life can begin again.

Strength and resilience. The Phoenix also represents our ability to rise after defeat. When we say someone “rises like a Phoenix from the ashes”, we mean they have overcome a profound crisis or personal tragedy and emerged stronger on the other side.
